Sometimes I Wish You Had Never Been Born…

poem

Now, wait. Hear me out. It’s not what you think.

I love you more than you will ever know. Sometimes I just find myself thinking…

I brought you into a hateful world. Not just the world. The life you were born into is hateful in itself.

This is a world full of war.

A world without a dedicated father.

A world where your own family can not make the time for you.

A world where your father does nothing but tear your mother down and when she finally stands up, she “has no respect.”

Sometimes I wish you had never been born…

Is this the world I want you, my babies, to be brought up in? Do you deserve what I’ve been through? Does anyone deserve that treatment?

You deserve so much more!

You deserve beauty and love.

You deserve to see the positivity over the negativity.

You deserve to be treated like royalty and I refuse to see any different…

I am so glad you were born…

You have changed me so much! You have given me a reason to live. You have allowed me to see the beauty in the world. You have given me purpose.

There is nothing in this world that I could love deeper, harder, longer than I love you.

I am so glad you were born…

I get to see you grow. I get to see where your life leads; your goals, hopes, and dreams.

And do you know what?

I’ll be damned if I’llΒ let anyone stop you. I’ll be damned if you’re treated like me…

Because I am so glad you were born and you deserve to be happy.
